Agent Bank of Asia has started banking program with the aim of delivering banking services to the remote areas of the people. As a part of this, Bank Asia Agent Banking was inaugurated on Wednesday at Panawullah Bazaar of the Ornamental Union of Bishwanath Upazila of Sylhet. Agent Banking as the chief guest was inaugurated by Upazila Parishad Chairman and District Awami League Advisory Board member SM Nunu Mia.
Addressing the chief guest, he said that digital centers located in all the unions of the country are working to provide easy and low-cost public-private services to the general public of the village. In this connection, the Ornamental Union Digital Center of Vishwanath Upazila has been working with great repute. As part of successful work, Agent Banking Program of Bank Asia is being launched to provide banking services to the people of the village. The general population of this area inhabited by the expatriates will no longer have to go to the upazila or district town.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony under the chairmanship of Hina Mia, general secretary of the Panawullah Bazar Traders Association and the organizer of the Ornamental Union Digital Center, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Fatema-Tuz-Zohra said, "Digital is not real, Bangladesh is now real. In order to provide banking services to the common people of the village to implement "My Village, My City", Bank of Asia has started Agent Banking's activities in Biswanath area.
Special guest was Kamal Bazar Fazil Madrasa Principal Mufti AKM Manohar Ali, Bishnath Police Station SI Mizanur Rahman, Bank Asia Limited, Sylhet Maine Branch Manager Mashiur Var Chowdhury, Officer Abacha Ali. Hafiz Saleh Ahmed recited the Quran at the commencement of the ceremony and Bank Asia representative Imad Uddin gave the welcome address.
Members of the ward were present for the decoration of ward no 1 of the decorative union, Saidur Rahman of ward no 1, Shaikur Rahman of ward no 1, Murbabi Chunu Mia, Atar Ali, Nurul Alam, Ishaq Sadhpat, and founder of Isaac Sadhmaj.
